A Mahileu resident is standing trial for sharing the message posted by Mikalai Statkevich, which called for coming out to the action for new free elections.

Stanislau Paulinkovich shared the information from the page of politician Mikalai Statkevich in the vk.com social network. The message contained a call for coming out for a protest action “For Free Elections” at 6 p.m. on September 12 in the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.

The police consider that the youngster called for participation in a non-sanctioned event, thus breaking the law “On Mass Events” and the corresponding regulation of the Administrative Code (Article 23.34), euroradio.fm informs.

On September 12, Mahileu police preventively arrested Stanislau Paulinkovich and delivered him to the Lenin district police department. They kept him there for 6 hours and made an administrative offence charge against him.

On September 20, judge Valiantsina Lapatsina sent the charge back to the police for the follow-up revision. If the judge finds Paulinkovich guilty, he may face a fine for up to Bn 630 (30 base fees) or an arrest.

The action “For Free Elections” was held in the evening on September 12 in the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk. The participants thereof demanded to hold new open and fair elections. Mikalai Statkevich and Ulladzimir Niakliaeu were the initiators of the action.
