Chairman Of Zelva District Council Detained

Kanstantsin Biardnikovich was detained during a hunt in the forest at the border of Vaukavysk and Zelva districts.

One more man, a pensioner, was detained together with Kanstantsin Biardnikovich. Both suspects are in a temporary detention facility, sb.by reports.

If the guilt of the district official is proven in court, he will face a prison sentence of up to three years. However, the article also provides for some softer sanctions: a fine, or arrest for up to 6 months, or restriction of liberty for up to two years.

By the way, the previous chairman of Zelva district council was dismissed from his post a year ago after he had been charged with abuse of power.

Meanwhile, two inhabitants of Masty were detained for illegal hunt of a roe deer in the territory of the hunting farm "Belaya Tropa".
