Independent trade unions suggest active struggle against the anti-constitutional law.

Leader of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union of Radio-Electronic Industry Workers Henadz Fiadynich has spoken about the published approximate list of “complicated life circumstances”, in case of which the authorities will release the citizens from paying the so-called social parasite tax, in an express-comment to Solidarity.

– I believe 70% of population today live in “complicated life circumstances”. – he has satted. – What about the situation of housewives, who are also doing a great job? What about the former military men who couldn’t find employment? What about unemployed young specialists? What about those who are offered a salary of Bn 150-200, and they cannot agree to that? It seems impossible to make an unappealable list which would foresee all possible cases. Anyway, why should Belarusian citizens prove anything to anyone?

The trade union’s leader believes that the officials made a big mistake also because they had authorized the local authorities to solve these issues, as payments from “social parasites” go to the local budgets.

– So, we have no idea what kind of cronyism exists in the regions today. They will release their close people from all fees (they might probably even fraud certificates), and what will the others do? – he says.

The interlocutor notices that the new amendments have not only failed to pacify the people, but outraged them even more. There is only one way out of this situation – the decree must be abolished.

We are not going to let the grass grow under feet, – Henadz Fiadynich has stated. – For a start, we will collect signatures everywhere, and send them to the President. If this doesn’t help and the people’s voices will remain unheard, there will be just one way out – we will prepare a mass street action for the abolishment of the decree.
