How Much Money the State Takes from a Belarusian

Every day five hours of eight we work for taxes.

Every employed Belarusian contributes to service expenditures of the country. And it is not about only an income tax or contributions to the NSSF. Every time you buy goods in a store we pay VAT that a product includes in the price, when buying petrol, cigarettes or drinks you pay excise duty.

Kosht Urada project and Inter-press calculated the amount of money an ordinary Baranavichy resident gives to the state.

An average monthly salary in Baranavichy is taken as the basis, although the salary in the regions is lower and equals around $200-300 a month.

To pay an official average monthly salary of $333 (around 632 rubles) an employer spends around $425 (including the fact that some contributions are - to the NSSF, for example, - made by an employer).

It turns out that an employee works only 2.51 hours for his personal needs, and 5.19 hours for needs of the state.

An ordinary dweller of Baranavichy spends about $50 for housing utilities, $70 - fuel, one who smokes 3 packs of cigarettes and drinks one bottle of stiff drinks a week pays more than $200 per month to the state.
