“If 1% Of Social Parasites Rebel, New Authorities Will Rule”

The government plans to take double tax from the unemployed citizens this year.

Due to the latest amendments of the Decree “On Prevention of Social Dependence”, Belarusian citizens will have to pay the fee for two previous taxation periods at a time, blogger d-zholik writes.

All individuals obliged to tax paying, who didn’t pay the fee for financing state expenses in 2015 should pay it before February 20 this year. Given the absence of tax deductions the sum of the fee will make Bn 360.

The same individuals are obliged to pay the fee for 2016 no later than November 15 this year – Bn 420.

The total sum makes $ 400 in the equivalent, given the current exchange rates.

This amount exceeds the average monthly salary in most areas of the country by several times, and it would cause a painful blow to most Belarusian families.

According to Deputy Head of the tax inspectorate in Shchuchyn district, over 2,5 thousand people have been recognized social dependents in the said area. 1800 of them received notifications to pay the fee, and only 115 already paid the necessary sum.

At the same time, according to the information of the administration of labour, employment and social protection of Shchuchyn district executive committee, employers provided the data on existence of only 275 untaken vacancies, 54,9% of which fall for working specialties, as of January 1, 2017.

The main companies of the area are experiencing difficulties with orders and sales, working collectives have been transferred to part-time working weeks, they work half a day or go for unpaid leaves.

Four years ago, about 2000 people suffering from alcoholism, over 450 of whom were women, were recorded by the local narcologist at the district polyclinics.

In the local department of compulsory execution, headed by the retired Deputy Head of Shchuchyn police department, they keep almost 9 thousand executive documents.

Herein, the authorities openly intimidate the local population with fines and arrests in case of failure to pay the fee for financing of state expenses.

The only way out of the current situation is to cancel the fee for 2015 or to abolish the Decree totally.

Given the wave of outrage which the fact of introduction of this fee caused in the Belarusian society, it seems easy to predict the possible consequences determined by the need to pay it twice. In total, this would affect over 400 thousand citizens (not counting their families), and if just 1% of this mass takes rakes and axes – the country will get a new government.

We remind, the “Outraged Belarusians’ March” will start at 6 p.m. on February 17 in the Kastrychnitskaya square of Minsk. The participants of the action will demand abolishment of the “social parasites” Decree.
