No Investors For “Great Stone”

The managing board of the Belarus-China industrial park admitted that the investment plan had been failed.

The managing board of the Belarus-China industrial park “Great Stone” has so far been dissatisfied with the results of the work on attracting investors, head of the park’s administration Aliaksandr Yarashenka said during an online-briefing on Thursday, BelTA reports.

“Of course a great work has been done. However, the second part of the work which we consider the most important is attracting investors. In this respect, not enough has been done. We have been dissatisfied with such pace so far,” – Yarashenka has said.

“The 8 investors who already registered in our park, mostly came in 2015, apart from the “SAS Industrial”, which came in late 2016. However, the year 2017 should become a breakthrough exactly in this direction, so that in a year, summarizing the results of our work, we would be able to proudly tell about the attracted investors,” – he has continued.

In turn, first deputy general director of the CJSC “Company on the Development of Industrial Park” Kiryl Karatseyeu has reminded that the main task for the year 2016 was development of the park’s infrastructure.

"The main focus of the managing company in 2016 was creating the engineering-transport infrastructure of the starting zone of the park, ensuring its readiness for the start of construction works by the first residents. To date, we have completed the construction works on roads development and engineering networks within the boundaries of 7 streets of the park’s starting zone with a total length of 13 km. The networks of gas and electricity supply, the housing and utilities water supply, and water intake pumping station of the 1st and 2nd lift have been put into operation. The construction site already has gas, electricity, and water for the purposes of production and construction. We have started the pre-commissioning activities on the grounds of the rainfall treatment facilities, and it is planned to complete the whole complex of construction works on the treatment facilities of the utility fluids soon,” – Karatseyeu has informed.
