Who will stimulate the government to carry out reforms?

Results of the previous year were disappointing. A lot of plans, made by the government for the program of social and economical development of Belarus for 2016-2020, haven't been fulfilled. Independent experts and authorities assessed the causes of failures differently.

Will the government manage to correct the mistakes and to change the situation?

Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Radio Electronic Industry Hennadz Fiadynich is sure that it's necessary to correct the mistakes of the past before proceeding to future achievements.

– They can plan whatever they want and even fulfill something of the planned. But at what cost? – the trade union leader wonders in an interview with Zavtra tvoey strany (Tomorrow of Your Country). – I'd rather don't talk about what you can do, but how to correct mistakes, to redeem for all that the government committed in 2016.

According to Hennadz Fiadynich, all the government solutions in the past 2016 have been directed against the people. Those were the raising of the retirement age and raising of the length or work experience to 20 years, excluding the time spent on childcare, education and military service. Decree №29, which legalized the total use of the contract system in the country and Decree №5, which has significantly tightened the working conditions of employees were anti-people as well.

– Before starting any new plans, I would recommend that the Government should first cancel the decrees and shift to the use of permanent employment contracts. To abolish the shameful anti-national decree on social parasitism, – the union leader said.

– I would also recommend that the Government should liberate people's initiative, adopt the law on self-employment, which would not have the retroactive effect. And not to levy any taxes during the first two years – let them first stand on their feet, and only then bring income to the state budget.

According to Hennadz Fiadynich,"people may fail to endure further pressure which is now exists in the world of work, especially the pressure on socially vulnerable citizens, including pensioners."

I don't believe that the government doesn't understand this, – the expert concludes.
