The key principles of the TV-channel’s work will be developed together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland in the next month.

Director of the Belsat TV-channel Agnieszka Romaszewska has written this on her Facebook page.

"I think you, like me, will be happy with the news that I want to report: Prime Minister (Beata Szydło - Editor) assured me, and authorized to announce that the existence of “Belsat” is in no danger. The coming months will be devoted to the establishment of our future conditions of cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland" - Agnieszka Romaszewska has said.

We remind, on December 16 director of “Belsat” Agnieszka Romaszewska said in an interview with the Polish newspaper Wpolityce, that, according to unofficial sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, it was decided to reduce the funding of the TV channel “Belsat” in 2017 by 2/3, and offer the channel to broadcast in Russian.

According to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski, an agreement was reached with the Belarusian authorities on broadcasting in Belarus a Polish-language channel instead of “Belsat”.

Belarusian political activists and cultural figures have launched a campaign in support of the TV channel “Belsat” .

On December 20, an opposition action was held near the building of Lukashenka’s Administration with a demand to "Switch off NTV – Switch On “Belsat”.
