A dangerous incident occurred in the office building of the Thomson Reuters agency in the Polish city of Gdynia on the coast of the Baltic Sea. A 30-year-old Belarusian citizen, who worked in this company, was detained, Radio Svaboda informs.

At about 21:00 Minsk time, an armed man entered the second floor of the building. According to unofficial information of the RMF FM radio, the Belarusian was armed with a Glock pistol and long barreled gun. The shooting took place in one of the halls of the building. The man allegedly tried to fire the gun at his colleague. People started to run away, one of them attacked the armed man and caught him up. Nobody was injured.

According to the Radio Gdansk reporter, if not for the quick and courageous reaction of one of those present, there could be victims.

When the police arrived, they arrested a 30-year-old Belarusian who worked for the company.

According to his colleagues, the man was an unsociable person, he never exchanged greetings at work, he did not have friends and he often called on to his family. At work, he was engaged in feeding data of company reports into the information base.

Gazeta Wyborcza reports that the Belarusian was interested in shooting and took part in shooter competitions.

According to sources close to the Reuters company, the happening was accidental. According to the Radio Svaboda source, the Belarusian was coming back from his training and wanted to show his pistol to one of his colleagues. When the guns were seen by others, the people panicked. At an attempt to whip off the gun from the man, two shots occurred accidentally.

Now investigators are working at the scene.
