Defendants In "Patriots’ Case" Reported About New Summons For Interrogation

The charges against the patriots haven’t been dropped yet, they have not been freed from the written undertaking not to leave the place.

The defendants in the "patriots’ case," accused of "creating an illegal armed formation," are still being called in for questioning. As defendant Miraslau Lazouski informed Euroradio, at the interrogation, the investigators asked clarifying questions regarding "certain points".

"When they called us in, and clarified some certain points. Several specific questions were posed: where you were and in what time periods. That was it," – Lazouski said.

As it has become known to journalists, last week, Ales Yaudakha, a distributor of Belarusian books, and extreme tourist Andrei Dundukou, an honors worker of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, were called in for interrogation. But they could not share the details about the interrogation and the "patriots’ case" in general, as they were under a non-disclosure agreement. As before, the accusation was not been withdrawn from them, the defendants of the case were not freed from the written undertaking not to leave the place.

According to the defendants, the investigators did not say anything about the possible closure of the case, and the dates of the next interrogation were not appointed.

Let me remind you that on March 21, Lukashenka declared about the detention of "several dozen militants." A few hours after the Belarusian ruler’s announcement, on the night of March 21 to 22, Ales Yaudakha and Miraslau Lazouski, the former White Legion head, were arrested.

During the following days, 20 people found themselves behind bars on charges of "creating an illegal armed formation." The last detainee was released on June 30, but the charges against them have never been dropped, and the case has not been closed yet.

On October 25, Investigative Committee chairman Ivan Naskevich promised that they would "have brought the case to a close" by the end of the autumn.
