Death Of Another Soldier In Pechy Reported

According to the official version, the young man was whitewashing the ceiling and painting the walls in one of the corps of the military unit.

More than 10 years, the Shamryns have been visiting their son in the cemetery. Their son Aliaksandr was called up, but did not live to see the demobilization. In June 2006, a coffin with the son's body came from the Pechy military unit to his parents in Krychau, Belsat reports.

Liudzmila and Aiaksandr cannot put up with the loss

According to the official version, the young man was whitewashing the ceiling and painting the walls in one of the corps of the military unit. He fell from a height more than two and a half meters through his carelessness, was in a coma for 11 days, and then died. Meanwhile, the examination showed that the nature of injuries – numerous fractures of the ribs, skulls, jaws and concussion – do not allow to say unequivocally that they were obtained as a result of the fall.

"My son was brought to the Central Military Hospital in Minsk, a tomography was done there, the doctors were surprised, they asked: has a tank passed over him?" – deceased Aliaksandr Shamryn’s father recalls.

The investigation did not check other versions

The Ministry of Defense still hides cases of hazing in the Belarusian army. After the first step in the investigation into the cause of the recent death of soldier Aliaksandr Korzhych in Pechy was made, other victims’ relatives also wanted to disclose such cases.

Apart of Aliaksandr Shamryn, another two soldiers died in the army in the same Krychau region.

New stories of tragedies in the army also appear in the Memorial Book created by the civil campaign Center For The Rights Of A Conscript Serviceman.
