Homel Bloggers To Tell Where People's Money Goes

Why Belarusians pay taxes, but social institutions remain in a terrible state.

On November 5, as part of the City Meetings project, Homel citizens will learn who and how forms the local budget and how to influence the distribution of public funds, Svobodnye Novosti writes.

Guests of the event will be bloggers, the authors of the YouTube project Rotornaya Zhatka Dzmitry Saburou, Viktar Rubtsou, Artsiom Shaporau and the head of the expert community Strategicheskaya Mysl, analyst Aliaksei Kharkevich.

Organizers say that a review of polyclinics, kindergartens and executive committees prompted to choose such a topic for the meeting: "Bloggers have prepared an excellent material, explaining what are the priorities of the local authorities in the Homel region and the city and how they distribute the budget."

In the video, bloggers ask the question: "Why don't Belarusians want to pay taxes?" And they find an answer in the administration of Zheleznodorozhny district, the regional executive committee, polyclinic № 3, secondary school № 32, gymnasium № 71. According to the authors of the video, the terrible state of Homel's social institutions does not depend on the worldwide conspiracy, the Masons or the US State Department, but on the distribution of funds.

A detailed survey of polyclinics for children is below:

One can understand how the budget is formed and who influences the distribution of funds at 18.00 this Sunday, November 5, in the art space Kovcheg (Pobedy Avenue, 2a, 2nd floor). Entrance is free.
