Ukraine Expelled Belarusian Diplomat

The diplomat is expelled in response to the declaration of the adviser of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus Skvortsov persona non grata.

Considering that Belarus declared Igor Skvortsov persona non grata, Ukraine being guided by the principle of reciprocity expelled the Belarusian diplomat from the country, the speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariyana Betsa informed interfax.com.ua.

"Considering that the Belarusian side declared Ukrainian diplomat persona non grata and expelled him, Ukraine being guided by the principle of reciprocity expelled the Belarusian diplomat from the country", Betsa said.

At the same time, the speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry did not specify the name of the expelled diplomat, as well as his position.

It will be recalled that over the past three months a number of Ukrainian citizens have been detained on the territory of Belarus. In particular, on August 24 FSS officers kidnapped 19-year-old Ukrainian Pavel Grib in Homel.

On November 17 the head of the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine Zurab Alasania said that the journalist Pavel Sharoiko, Ukrainian Radio had been detained. Yesterday it became known about the detention of the director of the Ukrainian PAO Plant of Weighting Materials Alexander Skiba who arrived on a business trip to the Minsk Tractor Plant.
