Anfimau On Situation In Construction: "Trouble Is Up! We Are Close To Systemic Crisis"


Officials admit that the situation in the construction industry is extremely complicated.

The situation in construction is far from acceptable and indicates that a systemic crisis of the industry is approaching.

Chairman of the State Control Committee Leanid Anfimau stated that at his meeting with Aliaksandr Lukashenka to discuss the economic performance over the past period of 2017, sum up the year results and draft the budget and monetary policy for 2018, BelTA informs.

According to Leanid Anfimau, the construction industry occupied 10% of GDP in 2014, now this figure has come down to 5%.

"The construction industry enterprises have found themselves in an extremely difficult situation: 38% of organizations are loss-making. It has never happened before, – the State Control Committee chairman pointed out. He reminded that a few years ago, the head of state gave instructions on developing the district Mobile Mechanical Departments. However, today this work has gone into decline, most of the organizations are on the verge of bankruptcy.

"A trouble is up over there. We are close to a systemic crisis of the industry," – Leanid Anfimau stated.
