Three Belarusians are nominated this year for the prize of the Polish Rzeczpospolit newspaper named after Jerzy Gedroits.

This year the Jerzy Gedroits award will be presented for the seventeenth time. It is awarded "for activities that correspond to state interests of Poland, for mutual understanding with the peoples of Central and Eastern Europe".

The newspaper reports that this year the jury nominated seven candidates.

- Professor Andrzej Sulima Kamiński, historian of the American University in Georgetown;

- Charles Meryl, Jr., American philanthropist;

- Dr. Adolf Yuzvenko, historian, director of the Ossolineum Library in Wroclaw;

- Andrei Sannikov and Uladzimir Nyaklyayew, leaders of the Belarusian opposition;

- Dr. Vera Menek, as well as the The Museum and Festival of Bruno Schulz Foundation, she is the president of the Foundation;

- Professor Lyonik Tarasevich, artist and professor of fine arts;

- Associate Professor Alexandra Hnatyuk, interpreter and popularizer of Ukrainian literature in Poland.
