‘Our Deeds Are Based On Backbone Of Slutsk Uprising Heroes’

Those who went to fight for Belarus back in 1920 understood what it was needed for.

The permission to hold an action dedicated to the 97th anniversary of the Slutsk Armed Uprising on November 25 in Slutsk has been received.

This year, the Slutsk district executive committee changed the route of the planned action, having prohibited to march in a column alongside the main street of the town, as it had been planned in accordance with the application, racyja.com reports.

Deputy Chairman of the BPF party Zmitser Saloshkin: “The rally and the demonstration in Slutsk have been allowed, but the executive committee changed the format of the rally and the place of gathering, and in fact allowed the rally not alongside the main street, but in the outskirts of the park. The rally will thus pass unnoticed for most town dwellers, but we don’t have enough time to appeal the permission.”

The participants of the action of November 25 will meet at 2.30 p.m. near the town stadium in Slutsk, from the side of Vilenskaya Street, 14. The demonstration will take place at the pedestrian way to the town culture park at 3 p.m. At 3.20 p.m. there will be the demonstration in the town culture park at Vilenskaya Street, 10.

The Young Front organizes a tour around the places of the Slutsk uprising — the anti-Soviet uprising in 1920.

Chairman of the Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich: "Everything we do today is built on the foundation of those who sacrificed themselves for the independence of Belarus. Although they did not have any illusions. No wonder one of the slogans of the participants in the uprising was: "We have come to die, so that the Motherland lives." The people were absolutely aware of what awaits them, and did it for future generations. "

On November 25, the Young Front offers go to Vyzna, Hrozau, Semezhava and Slutsk. The tour is timed to the beginning of the uprising — the first battles with the Soviet troops began on November 26, 1920.
