The plenary session of the Summit of leaders of the countries participating in the EU Eastern Partnership program is going on in Brussels, Radio Liberty reports.

During the general debate at the Eastern Partnership Summit, President Dalia Grybauskaite criticized Belarus for building a nuclear power plant in Astravets near the Lithuanian border, in violation of the international norms. In addition, she condemned the military exercises West-2017, which took place at the territory of Belarus.

President of the European Council Donald Tusk supported Dalia Grybauskaite in her criticism related to the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant near the EU borders.

Lithuania requires that the text of the Memorandum of Understanding between the EU and Belarus should contain clear statement of condemnation of the construction of the Astravets NPP.

The plenary session is to be completed by17:30 Minsk time with the adoption of a common declaration of the Summit, as well as the document "20 Goals of the Eastern Partnership to 2020." Signing of bilateral agreements is aso planned, alongside with the final press conferences.
