Only Moldova Head Represented Premiers At CEI Summit In Minsk

The summit of government heads of the Central European initiative, advertised by the Belarusian authorities, has flopped.

On the eve of the meeting of the heads of the CEI countries’ governments, which is taking place in Minsk these days, Belarusian propaganda media announced the scale of the event, presenting the summit as a "breakthrough" and "success" of Lukashenka's diplomacy.

However, as soon as the summit began, the official propaganda suddenly started to keep silent about the list of summit participants. The Charter97.org site asked the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Ministers to comment on the situation, but they refused to give us the names of the meeting participants.

The official agency BelTA only informed about the participation in the summit of Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filipp.

Indeed, as Charter97.org has learned, no other Prime Ministers of the CEI countries have come to the summit in Minsk. It is known that the meeting was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siillarto, Minister of the Interior of Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovich, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Marek Magerovsky, Director of the Eastern Europe Department of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria Elizabeth Bertagnoli, the Minister of Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, deputy ministers of foreign affairs of Slovakia and Croatia and others.

Today, the members of the CEI are Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Ukraine.

Thus, it can be stated that the CEI summit in Minsk has flopped.
