The activist will appeal the decision of the district court.

The defendant in the “patriots’ case” Dzmitry Kremianetski demanded Bn 10 thousand from the state — about a thousand rubles for each day in custody.

The Maskouski district court of Minsk made the decision in the case of Dzmitry Kremianetski on December 14. Before that, three court hearings were held, Radio Liberty reports.

During the trial, a representative of the KGB stated that the Investigatory Committee, to which the White Legion case had been transferred, should recognize Kremianetski's right to compensation.

Dzmitry Kremianetski’s legal representative Maryja Kolesava-Hudzilina thinks that it is the KGB that should recognize Kremianetski's right to compensation for moral harm, since this body closed the case against him, not the Investigatory Committee (this happened on June 2).

Earlier, Kremianetski received a message from the Investigatory Committee, which stated that he should receive an answer about the possibility of compensation from the KGB.

On December 14, judge Antsipchuk announced a decision according to which Dzmitry Kremianetski’s detention was found legal, and his claim for moral damage compensation was rejected. In total, Dzmitry Kremianetski spent 9.5 days in custody. He is going to appeal the decision of the district court.

Dzmitry Kremianetski filed a claim for compensation for moral damage caused to him back in August. So far, he is the only person involved in the “patriots' case”, who is trying to get compensation from the state.

Activist of the Young Front Dzmitry Kremianetski was detained on March 23 and spent 9.5 days behind the bars in the remand prison in Valadarski Street. In the “patriots' case”, he was in the status of a suspect, Kremianetski was not charged.
