Congratulate Political Prisoners On New Year

Everyone can join the solidarity action.

Participant of the “Freedom to Political Prisoners!” forum Sviatlana Kavalenka has told the Charter97.org about the festive action of solidarity with the Belarusian political prisoners:

— The New Year is a holiday, which is associated with fireworks, champagne and celebrations till the very morning. However, not everyone has an opportunity to celebrate this holiday with family, relatives and close people.

Today, there are eight political prisoners in the Belarusian jails. The illegally convicted innocent people will spend the New Year’s night in the cold and gloomy cells.

I believe that everyone can share a part of their hearts and congratulate political prisoners. Send a letter.

Former political prisoners told me many times how important it was to feel support and solidarity. It’s especially pleasant when letters come from unfamiliar people. Such attention means recognition by the public, that they are loved and waited for on the outside.

I call on everyone to join this festive action. Let a heap of bright postcards become a real New Year’s miracle for our political prisoners.
