Ihar Komlik Made Investigators Return His Passport
Ihar Komlik

The defendant in the "Trade Union's Case" could not get his document morethan two months.

It will be recalled that the accountant of the REP Trade Union Ihar Komlik and the chairman of the REP Trade Union Henadz Fyadynich were in custody under Part 2, Article 243 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (evasion of payment of taxes), nv-online.info writes.

The sanction of this article provides for punishment of up to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Human rights activists recognized Ihar Komlik as a political prisoner. On October 2 he was released from the remand prison under the recognizance not to leave.

"I was released, but I did not have my passport back, Ihar Komlik informed. - When I was detained, the document was taken away, and investigators did not rush to return it. I can't get a bank card to transfer my salary, pas the examination in a hospital that is not in the place of residence... I wrote a letter to the investigator about this, but I still did not see the document."

Being tired of waiting, Ihar Komlik even planned to organize a special press-conference, but...

"I wrote the second application requesting to give me my passport back, and this time I officially registered my application," the interlocutor told Narodnaya Volya. - And during the talk with the investigator I've found out the decision to return my passport was made. However, I've fallen ill and have no opportunity to take it back. But I'm glad there is the result."
