How Will Authorities Spend $ 140 Million Collected From Car Owners?

The Ministry of Transport cannot give any details on when they will start to repair local roads.

$ 140 million of the road charge were collected from the car owners in 2016. Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Aliaksei Auramenka announced this figure, speaking at the program "It Must Be Sorted Out" on the ONT TV channel in the evening of February 9, euroradio.fm informs.

The official explained how the collected money raised would be distributed: "The state fee is distributed and invested in the construction, major and minor repairs of national roads." However, he did not exclude that in the future a part of the collected money would spend on the local road system.

Avuramenka also said that Belarusian car owners would not be charged for using roads.
