Military exercises with the participation of Russian Airborne Troops scheduled for April.

Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry informs, that military exercises, wherein Tula military unit of the Russian Airborne Troops will take part, is to be held in western Belarus in April.

It is specified, that a delegation of Russian Airborne Troops arrived on an official visit to Brest in Belarus on Monday. The delegation is going to visit the 38th Guards Air Assault Brigade of the Belarusian special forces.

During the three-day visit the military experts of the two countries will hold joint talks on the participation of the 106th Guards Airborne Division of the Russia Airborne Troops in the tactical exercise of the special-operations forces of Belarus.

"Carrying out tactical exercises on the territory of Brest region of Belarus with the participation of units of the Russian airborne troops is planned for April 2017 ... The participation of the Russian airborne troops unit in the joint Belarusian-Russian tactical exercise will be the first training of the paratroopers of the Tula airborne troops conducted outside the Russian Federation in the current year," – ria.ru quotes the Russian Defense ministry.

On a related note, tactical exercises of two airborne brigades from Belarus are planned to be held in Vitsebsk region in March-April. Russians are going to take part in testing of tactical skills there. It is expected that this will be the Ivanovo Airborne Division (Russia), the newspaper Viacherni Brest informs.

Please note that in 2014, at the beginning of military operations in Donbas, Tula and Ivanovo paratroopers turned up at the border with Ukraine.

We remind that in the autumn of 2017, large Belarusian-Russian military exercises "Zapad-2017" are to be held on the territory of Belarus. The analysts do not exclude that Russia might occupy Belarus under the guise of training exercises.
