"You Want Us To Start Throwing You, Officials, In Waste-Bin?"

Lukashenka's Assistant Aliaksandr Yakabson was meeting with people on the issue of the Decree on "social parasites" in the Administration of Maskouski region of Minsk.

Journalists were not allowed to attend the meeting. One of the "parasites" was outraged:

"You want us to start throwing you, officials, in a waste-bin? Why don't you let a representative of Radio Svaboda attend the meeting?

The situation in the society is escalating today. And it's the officials who are heating it up. I believe there should be a dialogue between the authorities and people. Here I have a correspondence: I can not find a job through the fault of the officials for a year and a half already. They have forgotten that they are humans just like we are. I had to wait a year and a half just to get a chance to meet with the President's Assistant," – a man whose name was Viktar said to Radio Svaboda.
