Maxim Viniarski: Minsk To Become Main Theatre Of Events On March 25

The Belarusians should come out to the Square to defend their rights and freedoms.

Coordinator of the civil campaign “European Belarus” Maxim Viniarski has told this in an interview to the charter97.org website:

— On March 25, the authorities should give their reply to the demands set by the Outraged Belarusians’ March back on February 17. The protest action of March 25 is also important because this is a holiday for every real Belarusian citizen; this is the day when Belarus got an opportunity to be called an independent country. The Freedom Day celebration is a sacred duty for every Belarusian, especially in a situation when the threat from the eastern neighbor’s side is hanging over the country like a shadow.

As for the action itself, I can say one thing: the capital will be the main theatre of the events. Nevertheless, we should take the regions into account.

I would like to address to the Belarusians in connection with the March 25 action: no one will build the country for us, or protect our rights and freedoms. This solely depends on us.
