Combat Aviation Flights Suspended In Bebruisk After MIG-29 Crash

The storage of the combustive and lubricating materials, located in close proximity to the runway, has been taken under special protection.

The flights of the combat aviation have been fully suspended in Babruisk. It happened after the accident with the MiG-29 aircraft, which occurred on Thursday, February 23, Euroradio reports.

Important to note, the MiG-29 military aircraft engine caught fire during acceleration. The aircraft didn’t manage to take off. It has been reported that the pilot retracted the landing gear in order to extinguish the fire by friction of the fuselage against the runway. The pilot himself was forced to eject. According to the non-confirmed information, the pilot injured his leg.

The Ministry of Defense neither confirms nor refutes the information about the suspension of flights.

The guard of the military airport has been significantly reinforced after the incident. The storage of the combustive and lubricating materials, located near the runway, has been taken under special protection.
