On February 23, activists organized a collection of signatures for the abolition of the controversial decree, and on February 26, the March of disgruntled Belarusians is planned in the city.

As Babruisk REP trade union organization leader Halina Smirnova described to praca-by.info, despite the lack of information on the continuation of the collection of signatures, there were many of those, wishing to express their attitude to the notorious decree:

– According to our estimates, about 100 people came on a weekday. We didn’t advertise much the collection of signatures. But people came anyway, signed the petition, asked about our further actions.

Recently, there appeared the information, that Babruisk residents organized themselves and decided to meet on Sunday, 26 February, near the building of the executive committee on Lenin Square.

– I found out about the rally on the 26th, while collecting signatures in the streets. It turned out that this rally was organized by the citizens, who wanted to express their opinion on the decree on the "parasitism". Of course, I will come and I will advise my friends to come. Although there are concerns that the rally has been organized too hastily and not everyone will know about it. Nevertheless, we will use every opportunity to convey our position to the authorities, – Halina Smirnova said.

According to information posted on social networks, the rally will be held in Babruisk on Lenin Square on February 26, at 12.00.

The announcement says, "I hope that we, Babruisk residents, will unite together and show the officials that this decree is too much. When everyone is of itself – it is easier for them. Since the idea of the rally arose "from below", the participants (people go into the streets in Vitsebsk and Baranavichy at the same time) have to organize themselves, rather than wait for what the trade union or the party urge to do(although this is also important). It’s enough to come in a good mood, to listen to each other and to avoid provocations."
