Woman From Vitsebsk: My Heart Aches For My Children And Grandchildren

A woman from Vitsebsk told why she had decided to participate in the Outraged Belarusians March.

"I am against the Decree on "parasites". I am a retired officer. My daughter has three higher educations and she can't find a job. Vacancies that are being offered are false. I have many friends who work in this field. They say that they are forced to place these fake jobs.

I have a request to the authorities that the pensioners should be dismissed from their jobs. They should free their places in the administration, which they have been keeping for too long already. While competent, clever and promising young people can not find a job. They should leave their tables and go to meet with people. This is not normal. None of the European countries has such a decree. I, as a public sector worker, beg for it (abolition of the decree on "parasites" – endnote), because my heart aches for my children and grandchildren, because there are no prospects for them. People are leaving in flows, everyone is very dissatisfied," – a woman from Vitsebsk said in an interview with Radio Svaboda.
