The dictator’s populism might collapse the ruble again.

Economist Vadzim Iasub has told this in an interview to Radio Liberty, commenting upon Lukashenka’s speech at the online press-conference “Big Talk”.

“Lukashenka may talk about the $ 500 wages at whatever the cost for as long as he likes, the cost remains a highly important issue here. We came across the growth of revenues before, but it was done through the emission, through the money printing, not because of the growth of manufacture. Such way inevitably led to inflation and devaluation. No growth of manufacture compared to today’s level is expected till the end of the year,” – the economist has said.
