Andrei Sannikov: We Saw Buffoon, Frightened By Approaching Loss Of Power

The yesterday's performance fit to be called "a talk to do a number two".

The leader of the civil campaign "European Belarus" Andrei Sannikov said this in an interview with Charter97.org.

– What impression has the yesterday's press conference of Lukashenka made on you?

– Lukahsenka has poured such a flow of absurdity on the heads of Belarusians that this performance fit to be called " a talk to do a number two."

Due to the dictator's efforts, today Belarus is in the most difficult situation since it has gained the independence: severe economic and financial crisis, extremely difficult geopolitical situation, which threatens the very existence of our country. For the first time since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Belarus a war is really threatening us. And in response we hear that even 1,000 Russian tanks are not a threat for us.

I do not understand neither those trying to analyze this nonsense, nor those habitually sneering at this. That was scary. Actually, the head of state is a person who doesn't control this state, who does not want to admit the obvious and is trying to solve economic problems telling tales about shorts. Life in Belarus is getting harder, desperate people climb tower cranes to defend their rights, but the authorities refuse to hear them.

– Observers had the impression that this is the last press conference of the dictator.

– Lukashenka is not going to leave his dictatorial power, he will never be seriously integrating with the West, but the yesterday's show revealed that he had already moved away from controlling the state. He tries to act using old methods, hoping that another hysteria will help him to knock out money from Putin, but even this is not going to work.

Apparently, he and his menials wanted to show him as healthy person, but in fact we saw a buffoon, frightened by the approaching loss of power.
