Why Do Vorsha’s Riot Police Use Russian Symbols?

The Belarusians are outraged about the fact that the riot police officers from Vorsha decorate their cars with the Russian flags.

Journalist of the “Belsat” TV Katsiaryna Andreyeva was detaine dby the riot police officers when the filming crew was heading for the exit of the town of Vorsha.

Co-Chairman of the BCD Pavel Seviarynets was in the car together with Katsiaryna and cameraman Aliaksandr Barazenka. Mr. Seviarynets arrived to his native town to support the town dwellers who came out to protest against the “social parasites” decree, being outraged by the actions of the government.

The public who watched the detention of the TV-channel’s journalists, as well as the detention of Radio Liberty reporter Halina Abakunchyk, who were taken to the cars of the riot police officers, pointed out that the police vehicles were thoroughly decorated with the Russian symbols. The people started calling the police dispatch center of the town of Vorsha asking what was happening: why do the riot policemen use the Russian symbols? The police refused to explain or react to that.
