A new wave of anti-government protests took place in Belarusian cities.

Euronews reports about this.

This time, the protest activity increased in the regions. One of the most numerous rallies was held in Babruisk, where hundreds of people, discontented with the so-called "decree on parasites", took to the streets. People are displeased with the general economic situation and say that Lukashenka's decision to fine non-working citizens was the last straw that filled up the cup.

Babruisk protesters say:

"It's easy to say: "Go and look for a job." You can look for it, but it's hard and might take long. And I do not know how to live during this time. We must pay for the apartment, we must eat bread. It is necessary to use transport to find this job.

"I'm sure that if all the people take to the streets, then we will change the power. And all will be well. And if we are afraid, our children will be afraid in the future. People, come out!"

The authorities detained several opposition leaders before the start of the protests on Sunday.
