Babruisk: ‘Emperor Has No Clothes On!’

The participants of the action in Babruisk demanded to free the detained opposition activists.

The website Charter97.org is covering the event live. The people’s outrage reached its peak, over 1 000 people joined the action.

Historian from Babruisk called Uladzimir reminded through the megaphone that leaders of the right coalition Anatol Liabedzka, Vital Rymasheuski, Yuras Hubarevich, Volha Kavalkova were detained during the yesterday’s action in Maladzechna, and the REP trade union activist Halina Smirnova was detained in Babruisk. He said that these arrests had reminded him about the arrests in the Communist Poland and the “martial law”. According to him, when Poland became free it also became a prosperous and trouble-free country, which the Belarusians visit “as an exhibition”, - the Babruisker has said.

The people chanted “Freedom!”.

“If we put up with this, we will browse the barque from the trees with such a leader. Everyone’s bad, there are only enemies around, he’s the one who’s good and always misunderstood. We have what we have. The Emperor has no clothes on!” – the historian has said.
