Belarusians have again got a chance to change the course of history.

The opposition activist Tatsiana Kebikava wrote about it on Facebook.

“I remember the first presidential election quite well. I was nine years old. There was a festive atmosphere in our village house - finally it’s our own country, finally we are our own masters. At the time of the first round of elections our parents bought us, children, a huge box of marshmallows in chocolate. There was neither box of marshmallows nor festive atmosphere at the second round. The hope that soared so high and called my parents, flew to the other heavens. My grandmother hoped that Lukashenka would be impeached soon. She was seriously ill, but she really wanted to see a free and rich Belarus. My grandmother died in 1999. I was 14. Now I'm 32. The Square-2006 is behind. Lost hope in 2010, when I was not in the Square.

And I keep asking myself, what if I were there? What if thousands of people like me were there?

Therefore, I now appeal first of all to those who have lost faith, who are tired. We have got a chance to change the course of history again. The second such chance can appear only after many years. It's not the time to sit at home, not the time to say that I have already made my contribution. Thousands are made up of individuals. Maybe it’s you whom we lack this time.

I appeal to those who watch online broadcasts, who are waiting for changes and hope that someone will make them. No one will make them for you! Only by joint efforts we can achieve results.

I appeal to those who are afraid. Do not be afraid. The crowd conquers the fear. And it’s not so terrible to be detained for a couple of days. It is just another experience, which you would share with many people.

Outrage calms down fast and deep apathy replace it. If we miss the time and do not say "Enough!" to this regime, we will continue to bitterly bury our loved ones who have never seen a free and prosperous country.

Therefore, friends, everyone who has lost faith, who hesitates, who is afraid, who hopes for another, find strength in yourself, find the courage and on March 25 say in a multi-million voice to Lukashenka and his government to retire. We must achieve free and democratic elections.

It’s time to forget fears, it’s time to act.”
