The politician called on the Sejm and the Polish Senate to react to the situation in Belarus.

"This is a dramatic retreat from the policy of normalization," – the Chairman of the Sejm Commission on affairs in Belarus Robert Tyszkiewicz said about repressions against the people protesting against the decree on "parasites" in Belarus. The politician sent letters to the speakers of the Sejm and the Senate of Poland, expressing expectations of actions in the matter of releasing all those who were repressed, Radio Racyja reports.

"This is the most serious return of repressions since the presidential elections of 2010," – the politician said: – We hoped that after the release of the last political prisoners and the lifting of sanctions against Belarus, it will maintain its course towards the return to democratic standards and a dialogue with Europe and with Poland. Unfortunately, it turned out to be only a temporary political phase. At the same time, we are dealing with an unprecedented wave of social protests in Belarus. We can say that Belarus is awakening and changing."

On Robert Tyszkiewicz’s initiative, the public speaking of the Belarusian opposition politicians in the Polish Sejm is scheduled for next Thursday.

Some of them have been sent invitations, but they have been sent to prison recently.

"We will seek the release of Anatol Liabedzka, Yury Hubarevich, Vital Rymasheuski, and other oppositionists. The public opinion in Poland must be aware of the events in Belarus," – the Sejm deputy believes, – "Yes, so that all the political scene participants in Poland can hear firsthand an opinion about the civil society situation in Belarus. And also to get to know, what is expected from us in this situation. We will also demand from the government the release of all those arrested in Belarus."

"We also expect that the current government will use the ties, which have been built on with Minsk, to speak out in defense of the political prisoners," – Robert Tyszkiewicz said.

According to him, the Sejm Commission on affairs in Belarus will also seek to strengthen free media broadcasting in Belarus, support Belarusian civil and independent communities, and the return of the Kalinouski Student Program.
