Miasnikovich: Those Who Do Not Want To Work Must Be Engaged In Public Works
Mikhail Miasnikovich

The chairman of the "council of the republic" suggested sending unemployed people to clean forests of windfall.

According to Mikhail Miasnikovich, the Belarusians, who are not engaged in the public production, can be conditionally divided into three categories, BelTA informs.

– The first one is represented by those, who would like to work, but they need help with employment. Some of them would like to create their own business. And there is around a third of those, who do not work and do not want to work. They must be engaged, among other things, in public works. We agreed with the Luninets district leadership on two basic focus areas. The first one refers to care works at melioration systems. There is a very large amount of reclaimed land. Cleaning works, clearing of the channels are to be carried out there," – the speaker said.

Mikhail Miasnikovich added that workers were also needed for the processing of forest resources.

– We have a lot of windfall, especially in these three districts (Hantsevichy, Pinsk, Luninetsk), the forests are cluttered. The Ministry of Forestry is working very actively here. But at the same time, people can be used to provide not only sanitary cleaning of forests, but also the processing of small-diameter timber, which allows to get a conditioned product that will be sold to the population. These are picket boards, piles, stubs, chores. Thus, the number of jobs can be objectively reduced in the main production, but there are a lot of other activities in each region, where available labor resources can be involved," – Miasnikovich said.
