Mikalai Statkevich: Authorities In Panic

The subordinate bootlickers have to adjust to the inadequate psychologic state of the dictator.

On March 21, ex-member of the organization "White Legion", one of the leaders of "Knigazbor" Miraslau Lazouski, bookseller Ales Yaudakha, adherent of adventure tourism and airsoft Andrei Dandukou, and members of Babruisk military-patriotic club "Patriot" Viachaslau Dukshta, Jan Mihalkou, Illia Greek, Aliaksei Abramau, Andrei Kolmik-Yamatsin, Siarhei Barstok, Timur Pashkevich.

The leader of the Belarusian National Congress (BNC) MikalaiStatkevich has denied in an interview to Radio Liberty the involvement of these people into the organization of the Freedom Day in Minsk:

"I have had no contacts with these people. They have no relation to the organization of the action on 25 March. However, the behavior of the authorities make it clear, that they panic, they are scared. Whatever they say – scenarios, routes – the main indicator is the number of people at the actions. Because it will indicate the degree of the society’s dissatisfaction. The authorities are afraid of this.

The situation is also connected with the severe psychological condition of the head of the state, possibly even with his mental illness. The subordinate bootlickers have to adapt to this state, to provide evidence to justify his words. I think that the detainees will receive a few days of administrative arrest, but when the action passes, they will be released. "

Mikalai Statkevich approved the decision of the organizational committee of the celebration of the Freedom Day in Minsk to go to the city center, regardless of the possible response of the Minsk city executive committee. However, he still believes that the main organizer of the action is the BNC, which he heads:

"I have no discrepancies with the organizational committee. In fact, the only organization that prepares the action is the Belarusian National Congress. It is working for the preparation of this action. As for the position of the applicants, it is the position of a few people. At the same time I want to note: the fact that in such a difficult situation, these young people said that the procession will go to the city center, redounds to their honour.”
