Rally In Paris: Belarusians, Resist!

A rally in support of Belarusians has taken place in Paris.

A picket in support of the detained participants of the Non- Parasites Marches has taken place in Paris in front of the Belarusian Embassy. As said by witnesses, the rally had about 15 participants, including Belarusians, Russians and French, tut.by reports.

The picket was organised by Belarusians living in Paris with a support of the New Dissenters association.

“The participants express support to all the detainees after the Non-Parasites Marches and demand the Belarusian authorities to cancel the Decree #3, stop crackdown on the protesters, reform the political system and the economy of the country – the press-release of the association reads.

Those present read out the letter to the Belarusian Ambassador to France Pavel Latushka with a demand to stop crackdown in Belarus, and then put the letter into the postbox of the Embassy. It was told by an eyewitness, a journalist Andrei Vaitovich.

The French Embassy in Minsk has also made a statement on the mass detentions in Belarus.

“France expresses concern over the wave of detentions taking place in Belarus at the moment, which affect opposition leaders, activists, citizens, journalists in connection with their participation in peaceful demonstrations. France reminds about its commitment to freedom of assembly, association and speech,” – the Embassy’s statement reads.
