Mikalai Statkevich Kidnapped by the Authorities

Friends, relatives and journalists are still unable to find a politician.

Yesterday Mikalai Statkevich, one of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress and national protests, disappeared.

On the evening of 24 March Yury Adamovich, son of Maryna Adamovich, had a video talk with Radio Svaboda and confirmed that on 24 March her page on social networks as well as her husband's pages Mikalai Statkevich had been hacked. Yury Adamovich's page was hacked as well. According to him, their mobile phones are blocked.

Around 11 a.m. on 25 March, Maryna Adamovich informed Radio Svaboda that she still did not know where her husband was:

"No information is available. If Mikalai is at large, not behind bars, he will anyway participate in the action."

As of 16:05, 25 March, Yury Adamovich informed nn.by that he had no information about the fate of his mother Maryna Adamovich and Mikalai Statkevich.

Young man wrote on Facebook:

"Facebook page is under our control now. I do not know where Mikalai Statkevich and mother are. Her mobile phone switched off an hour ago.

It will be recalled that according to the BNC decision Mikalai Statkevich was to head the action on the Freedom Day in Minsk.
