Uladzimir Niakliaeu To Authorities: You Are Done!

The people’s poet believes that Belarusians will not forgive the authorities for a scorn like this.

Poet Uladzimir Niakliaeu, who is detained and remain in hospital now, has told what happened to him.

The poet was on air for “Belsat” TV:

“They took me at 2.30 a.m. at the station in Brest. The officers of the regional KGB supervised the detention, while the riot police of Brest actually detained me. In fact it was an abduction, I am staying here ony on the ground of a medical certificate,they gave me no paper upon detention. No one was even going to give me any documents, when some policeman reminded on this, they waved off.

They made me undress and “dance”. Guys, such things will never be forgiven!

In the morning on March 25, I was heading for the action in Minsk, which we really hoped for, and I was advised to go there via different conspirative ways , through Latvia, or the forests of Padliassa, but I couldn’t give them such a present as the arrest at illegal border crossing. I realized that a border means a border, it was impossible to fly over it. I hoped for the common sense of the authorities.

Yesterday they took me for a brain imaging, and all the nurses were watching videos of yesterday’s events in Minsk on their smartphones, it was even worse than the Square-2010. “Shuniavki”chased the people like dogs, the nation, the people, the kids.

I want to tell you: That’s enough! You are done, the people will never forgive you! All this has moved to the people, it’s not political struggle anymore, the people will handle it now. You are finished! I am telling you this from the hospital, in the state which you have driven me into, but you are done!”
