"Me and My Guys Kidnap People": New Graffiti in Minsk

A street artist portrayed Shunevich, Balaba and Yauseyeu.

On Monday morning a new street art appeared in Minsk, belaruspartisan.org reports.

Three posters were painted. Yauseyeu was painted next to the Institute of Culture metro station. He is the chief police officer of Minsk. He is pictured as a non-educated delinquent wearing a sports suit and a hat. There is an inscription: "Me and my guys kidnap people."

The next poster locates near the entrance to the Minsk City Executive Committee. It pictures the chief of the city riot police Balaba. And it is written next to him: "I'm in charge of the dispersion of peaceful citizens' meetings. At your expence."

The third is located in the yard near the Victory Square, on a transformer booth where once a portrait of Vasil Bykau was painted.

It pictures the minister of Internal Affairs Ihar Shunevich in the NKVD uniform and with a gun in his hand. The inscription next to him is as follows: "I am proud of the uniform and methods of the NKVD."

The third poster is the most symbolic for the painter. On March 25 he escaped from a police officer when people were captured in yards as well. A local resident opened the door for him and his friends could hide.

The painter wanted to be unknown and told journalists about objectives he followed.

- First of all, I would like public debates about lawlessness of the police to be sound. In addition, I want people who feel only "screws" in this system to understand that they also have a personal responsibility for the all this nightmare. The society must know them and remember their names. People who are considered law enforcement officers and behave like NKVD non-educated delinquents.
