Verkhovna Rada Allows Awarding Mikhail Zhyzneuski Title Of Hero Of Ukraine

The title of the Hero of Ukraine has been allowed to be awarded to the Belarusian who wa skilled at Maidan - as an exception.

The Verkhovna Rada has allowed to award the title of the Hero of Ukraine to Mikhail Zhizneuski, liga.net writes.

235 deputies voted for the changes in section V of the final provisions of the law on state awards of Ukraine №6174 in total.

The title of the Hero of Ukraine is allowed to be exceptionally awarded to a foreigner, who was posthumously awarded with the Order of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

A citizen of Belarus Mikhail Zhizneuski was killed on January 22, 2014 in the Hrusevski Street in Kyiv during the Revolution of dignity. He became one of the first victims of the conflict.
