Mikalai Statkevich: Let Lying And Dishonest Ruler Tremble With Fear

All the stolen – elections, power, palaces, money – will have to be returned to the people.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress Mikalai Statkevich has said this in his appeal on the eve of the May 1 rally:

– On May 1, on the Day of Labor and Solidarity, we will demand from the government the realization of our constitutional rights to decent work and a fair reward for it, to a decent life.

We will gather at 2 pm for the Rally of Dignity and Solidarity in the very center of our capital – on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk, so that Belarus, society and government can hear and see us.

We will adopt a resolution where we will declare to the authorities, what they are to do to make the life of the people better.

We will declare our solidarity with all those who are illegally sentenced for peaceful protest rallies and demand freedom for those arrested on false charges.

We will demand for ourselves a government elected by the people, accountable to the people and dependent only on the people.

We will come for our own, for what belongs to us by right.

Let the lying and dishonest ruler tremble with fear. All the stolen from us – elections, power, palaces, money – will have to be returned to the people.
