Stary Olsa’s Bandleader Sets Up Help Service For Belarusian Patriots’ Families

Those who join the campaign of solidarity with the detainees in the “White Legion” case, will be able to attend the band’s concerts for free.

Zmicer Sasnouski, the leader of the Stary Olsa band, playing medieval music, announced the creation of a help service for families of detainees in the “White Legion” case.

The musician calls on all non-indifferent people to “respond to groundless accusations by expressing solidarity with the families, which were left without sons, brothers, fathers for some time”. He plans to create conditions for the detainees’ relatives, which would help them to endure the harsh times, Radio Svaboda informs.

What does a man need at a difficult time? He only needs to know that his family is safe and under the care of friends. That his wife and children are not hungry, are not in need and keep the good mood. This gives strength to withstand in spite of everything!” – the musician says.

Zmicer Sasnouski considers the accusations of the arrested to be evidence-free: “The arrested “militants” are my friends. I affirm with all responsibility: these are the best sons of Belarus, the salt of our people. Honor and dignity. Educated, physically developed people who were inspired by the love for the Fatherland – probably these were the grounds for their arrest.”

“The system is simple: you can help if you have a car (to go to the grocery for food, to take children to the clinic, to take grandparents to the country); we need babysitters; visiting pediatricians, plumbers, builders, radio technicians, cooks, software engineers / computer adjustors, artists, pre-school teachers, coaches for children, choreographers or musicians.

Maybe someone is ready to provide good clothes for children or to organize a nature trip. All kinds of assistance are welcome (financial matters - personally with the relatives of the detainees). All in your spare time,” – Zmicer Sasnouski explains the essence of the initiative.

“Those who join the “Help Service” will become my personal friends. You will attend all Old Olsa’s festivals and concerts for free. My holidays on the farm, my friends – I will share everything with you. And this will be a victory of the spirit!” – Zmicer Sasnouski says.
