Police Officer Stole $ 270 Thousand Out Of Internal Affairs Ministry Building

The man, who has stolen almost 270 thousand dollars from the safe of the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is a law enforcement officer, Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich has told tut.by.

"The investigation is continuing. The Investigative Committee is carrying it out. The money, stolen from the safe box, has been confiscated from the person, who is a suspect in one of the criminal cases," – the minister says.

"Every family has a black sheep," – he answers the journalists' question, whether the suspect is a law enforcement officer.

We remind that during the Christmas holidays, almost 270 thousand dollars were stolen from the safe in the building, where the Main department on struggle against the organized crime and corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus is situated.

This became known from the decision of Shevchenkivskyi district court of Kiev, published in the Unified State Register of Judicial Decisions of Ukraine.

As follows from the document, at about 9 am on January 8, 2017, the suspected citizen deliberately, out of mercenary motives, secretly stole cash in the amount of 269 150 dollars from the safe in the office No. 107 of the administrative building at the address: Minsk, Revaliutsyinaya Street, 3. On the same day, he crossed the state border of Belarus and left for Ukraine, where he met with a Ukrainian citizen. In the morning of January 9, the lawbreaker left Ukraine for Romania, the court's materials show.
