Pavel Sevyarynets: Today's Regime Is Even Afraid of the Word "Freedom"

Illegal, illegitimate authority fears of a peaceful man who comes out with flowers to celebrate the Freedom Day.

The co-chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Pavel Sevyarynets arrested on 10 days on March 31 stated that. Today's regime is even afraid of the word "freedom", he stressed.

The politician recalls that such reaction was typical after peaceful actions in 2010 when people stood against fraud elections and in 2011 when they were outraged by the economic crisis.

"Such behavior was almost completely motivated by fear," he noted and recalled that mass legal perjury of police officers was a mortal sin. Pavel Sevyarynets also stressed that judges were "all aware", there were a lot of video that proved perjury of police officers.

"This is a great challenge to all Belarusian people. When such things happen it forms the ground for us to wonder where we live. The ground for us to pray for victims and for executioners. The ground for us to draw the line between the good and the bad. March 25 is the line between people in the uniform and those who came to celebrate the Freedom Day," the co-Chairman of the BCD added.

In his view, the dispersal of the action on March 25 was a "punitive operation against people". "That operation aimed not to let people come together, to intimidate them for they were not able to protest against that failing economic policy line and against pressure and harassment still practiced in Belarus," Pavel Sevyarynets added.

However, according to him, people were not afraid, the next day students protested and people talk about no fear on social networks. "And this is a distinguishing thing of 25 March 2017. In addition, reasons why people came to the protest are still viable: failing economic policy line, harassment," he believes.

The politician also calls for mass solidarity with the detainees and for a prayer. "Mass rallies, mass violence should result into our solidarity. We should meet violence with the solidarity. We can win. We believe! We can! We succeed!" the co-chairman of the BCD stated.
