Another Person Detained With Regard To White Legion Case

Last night, the KGB detained the manager of one of the Minsk firms.

The name of another detainee on the "patriots' case" is Viktar Maroz. He manages one of the Minsk firms, which is engaged in distribution. Last night, Viktar Maroz’ father was informed by the KGB that his son had been detained for 3 days on suspicion of Part 3 of Article 293 – "preparation for participation in mass riots," Radio Svaboda reports.

"The relatives hope that the guy will be released without detention. He used to be a White Legion member as a young man, but it was a long time ago," – Nina Shydlouskaya says.

According to her, the KGB is putting certain pressure on Miraslau Lazouski.

"One may talk about psychological and moral pressure. He is visited by committee employees between the interrogations, they conduct various conversations, put moral pressure, and that is why he feels very badly. Headaches torment him, he’s overwatched. They do not abide by the rule that there are to be no actions between the interrogations without the participation of a lawyer," – Nina Shydlouskaya says.

What happened to the rest of the detainees?

"There is no exact information, but one of the lawyers has said in a private conversation: "If the 10 days, allowing the detention without a charge, have expired and the person has not been released – it means that the charges have been filed, but this is still not known. But we hope that this forecast will not be confirmed," – Nina Shydlouskaya says.

The KGB does not comment on the charges against the detainees on the White Legion case.
