The contrast between ordinary Belarusians and the authority is getting stronger.

The former Minister of Labor Aliaksandr Sasnou told in the interview with Charter97.org.

- On May 9, Lukashenka called "a shame" not the state of the Belarusian economy and the standard of living of the population, but the game of the national team at the Ice Hockey World Championship . And yesterday the "hockey friend" of Lukashenka Mikhail Zakharau suggested building twice as many as ice arenas. How is it possible to come to it amid the crisis?

- This is not understandable. In both cases, these characters need to contact Navinki (mental health clinic). There medical practitioners can accurately identify, classify and comment on such "shame" statements.

- Does it arise sensation of the surreality of that which is going on. People save on the most necessary things, and the country's leadership is concerned about the new palaces...

- This causes associations with all dictatorships in the world: they are out of touch with the reality and with the people. Dictators and their inner circle live in their own world. And they are not interested in people at all. The people are only the mean to provide themselves with the luxurious standard of living.

At the same time, the contrast between ordinary Belarusians and the authority is getting stronger. As, for example, Lydia Yermoshina, who has recently stated that $300 thousand for construction of the house in Drazdy she got from her friends from Kaliningrad... How can an ordinary Belarusian find such friends with such money?

People in Belarus are getting poorer before our very eyes. At the same time, those who run the country become shamelessly rich. There are only few of them - a miserable percentage of the total population of Belarus. And the gap between them and the Belarusian people is growing fast. This can be seen by the unaided eye.

- What can such a striking social contrast result in? Are there historical examples?

- In what? It is obvious. Just remember what happened 100 years ago, in 1917. The situation in Belarus can lead to this. At least, the growth of social protests from people driven to desperation is quite possible.
