Installer Fell From 9-Meter Height At Hrodna Azot

On May 11, a 33-year-old installer of OJSC Sayuzprommantazh fell from the height of about 9 meters during construction works in one of the shops of OJSC Hrodna Azot. The man suffered severe head injuries, official representative of the Investigative Committee for Hrodna region Siarhei Sharshanevich told tut.by.

The Investigative Committee informs that the incident happened at about 11 o’clock on 11 May. The man was carrying out construction works in one of the shops of JSC Hrodna Azot. He fell from a metal frame from a height of about 9 meters. The man was hospitalized with severe head injuries into a health facility, where he is now.

Investigators are interviewing the persons in charge and workers, studying the documentation, a forensic medical examination has been appointed. The law enforcers are also investigating whether the installer was provided with the means of individual protection, which are necessary to carry out work at height.

Specialists of the Hrodna regional department of the State Labor Inspectorate will give their opinion. After that, a legal assessment of what happened will be made. In addition, the investigators will take measures to eliminate the causes and conditions, which contributed to what happened.
