Nina Shydlouskaya: No Good To Play With KGB
NINA SHYDLOUSKAYA

The investigation term has been prolonged for a number of detainees in the “patriots case”.

The 16 people of those arrested in the “patriots case” are still held behind the bars. For some of them, according to the lawyers, the investigation term has been prolonged. This means, the term of holding in custody has also been extended. Public representative of the detainees’ families Nina Shydlouskaya told Euroradio about this:

- Already today there is information that the decision on the investigation term is being taken with regard to some detainees, and, correspondingly, the persons whose terms get extended are informed about it. I know exactly about two persons, but I will not reveal the names. And the terms are also different: 2 to 4 months. Obviously, this decision-taking process on prolongation of the term of investigation will be applied to all the other detainees as well in the nearest days.

Thus, the term of investigation with regard to detained Andrei Dundukou has been extended for four months. This fact, alongside with other violations of the detainees’ rights and clear political vector of the case give grounds to recognize the defendants in the “patriots case’ political prisoners, Shydlouskaya thinks.

Also, the public representative of the families of detainees does not exclude that physical force and psychotropic substances are actually being used against certain arrested persons. This, says Shydlouskaya, follows from the lawyers’ observation of the behavior of the guys and the content of their letters to the outside.

Nevertheless, Shydlouskaya does not advise the arrested to sign an agreement on cooperation with the KGB to go free.

- This is the game you cannot win. Signing such agreement, you will derail your own conscience and further actions.

Nina Shydlouskaya draws special attention to the hard moral and financial condition of the detainees' families. She says that help comes to them, but it is not enough.
